Enhanced User Experience

Real-time values during configuration

Real-time value are shown in the Channel editor windows. This feature is available both for analog input and for digital input editor.

ModBus shows online user guide. In this way, user guide is always up to date.

Import/Export channel configuration

Channel editors include two new buttons to import and export channel configuration

New option: force number of register per read

A new option has been added: forced number of register per read.  This option allows reading of a specific number of registers per read regardless the number of register per channel. This feature is available only for NOT OPTIMIZED READ

New option: check ping before trying connection

A new option has been added: "Check ping before trying connection". These makes the system more responsive.

Management of handshake channel in reading operations

Modbus driver can handle basic communication handshake with third-party devices. With this new feature, at constant rate, Modbus rises a register value to request a reading operation. This can be useful for communication with high-level devices to request update of register value or any other operation related to the reading process.

Management of recipe parameters

ModBus driver can handle recipe of machinery. It can receive a list of parameters describing the recipe and update all the parameters in the ModBus device.

Text reading

Modbus is able to read register values and convert them to a text. This kind of data is published in the additional info field.

Text writing

Modbus is able to write text inclused in recipe description request. Text are converted from ASCII to number to allow writing in the MasodBus device

Multiple channel editor for WPU, group and custom attributes

ModBus driver allows you to apply the same settings of WPUs, group and custom attributes to multiple channels in one shot.

Management of handshake channel in writing operations

Modbus driver can handle basic communication handshake with third-party devices. With this new feature, Modbus rises a register value for each writing operation.  This can be useful for communication with high-level devices to notify that some register have been written by the iDaq Modbus driver.
