Automatic Defragment of TDMS Files
When TDMS are used to log data, an automatic defragment procedure is performed at logging completion. Defragmented TDMS files use less disk space and are loaded into memory in a shorter time.

"Recording at Startup" Feature
This feature allows to start recording automatically when an ADD-ON is lunched, if it was recording when it terminated last execution. Take advantage of this feature for unsupervised recording sessions, long measurement campains and when your data logger has to start recording automatically in case of power OFF /power ON sequences.
Visualization and logging of images
Easy Data Logger visualizes and logs images in JPG format. Stored images are traced in a CSV file with image timestamps.
Easy Data Logger visualize digital input indicators
In Easy Data Logger, it is possibile to use indicators associated to digital lines acquired by iDaq. Synoptic panel can be integrated with status lines coming from monitored system. User can setup triggers on digital line status changes to control recording sessions by external buttons, PLC, Robot, Shaker, thermal chamber, etc.
Controlling digital Output from Easy Data Logger Synoptic Panel
Easy Data Logger manages buttons to control digital output lines. When a button is pressed, the relative digital output resource switches according to the button value. Easy Data Logger can interact with external equipement from its synoptic panel, for example switching on/off engines, opening/closing a valve , interacting with a PLC, robot, Shaker, thermal chamber, etc.

In Easy Data Logger, different numbers of decimal digits for visualization and storage can be used. For example, users can save an analog signal using 3 decimal digits and display it using 2 decimal digits.

Smart indexing of saved channels
A smart indexing of channels can be performed when required. If different channels with the same name and device are saved, an index is appended to the channel name in order to avoid channel mixing. Channel indexing is performed only if necessary

ADD-ON interfaces have new buttons with re-designed icons to allows immediate comprehension of every functionality. Common functionalities have a new unified interface and button style. Most used features have been grouped and designed to be easily activated with one click.

All built-in ADD-ONs have s a new interface style with orange buttons and slides designed in order to take advantage of touch screen displays. Icons and pop-up messages are more readable.
Channel selection enhanced interface
Channel selection dialog includes new amazing features to simplify channels selection: Select All and Deselect All buttons, with a right click on channel name user can Include/Exclude all channels from the same acquisition device.
Threshold on analog input in Easy Data Logger
Easy Data Logger allows users to set a threshold for analog input objects. Object is colored according to the real-time value: if the realt time value is in threshold, default colors are used; otherwise, out-of threshold color are used.
Automatic trigger creation from the user threshold in Easy Data Logger
Easy Data Logger allows to create a trigger starting from the threshold defined by the user. This feature allows users to create triggers on analog signals quickly.

Locking of ADD-ONs from iDaq
For ADD-ON version only, the application can be locked from iDaq. When iDaq is locked, some features are locked too (editing, saving, etc...).
Enhanced resource changing
In Easy Data Logger, resource related to an object can be changed avoiding to delete the existing object and to create a new one. In this way, object properties are maintained even if resources change.
New Action to acivate DIAdem scripts on trigger switch
A new action can be associated to trigger switches, that runs DIAdem and opens a selected VBscript. With this new action, iDaq and DIAdem can cooperate to create reports when a recording session ends, or to visualize recorded data in a specific manner.
New Action to run third party commands
A new action can be associated to trigger switches, that executes comands from a command line console. With this new action, iDaq can operate with third-party applications to create reports, visualize and process recorded data automatically.
iDaq ADD-ONs have enhanced interface for recording sessions selection and creation
ADD-ONs included in iDaq base distribution share a new enhanced interface to create and open recording sessions. New interface includes multiple previews, fast editing of connection settings, fast deletion and easy access to Cloud storage base on DropBox, GoogleDrive and Microsoft OneDrive.
Interface improvements in the floating chart
Object text color is used as color trace in the floating chart only if it isn't white.
New object: Slide Ouput
A new object type has been added: Slide Output. It is a slide control which allows driving of Analog Ouputs.
Range of Analog Ouput Objects is coerced to the iDaq range
User cannot insert a value that exceed the range values set in iDaq. Even if UseiDaqRange is disabled, if necessary, range values are coerced to the iDaq range values.

Locking of Edit Mode
EDL can be locked using a password in order to avoid unauthorized people to apply unwanted changes. When EDL is locked, edit mode cannot be used.

Trigger configuration is maintained when object style changes
Trigger properties are maintained when object style changes. For example, if an out-of-range trigger is applied to a Gauge Object and style of this object changes to a Meter Object, out-of-range trigger is maintained.
Copy of common properties when change style is applied
When an object style is changed to another, all the common properties are applied to the object (name, text size, description, chart color, ...)
From the Session Selection window, existing sessions can be duplicated. This feature allows users to create a new session by using an existing one as base.

Minimization of CPU usage
Strip Chart and Easy Data Logger allow users to disable the refresh of real-time signals. When visualization is disabled, acquisition and saving are not affected by the visualization status. This feature is useful to minimize CPU Utilization on embedded systems such embedded CompactDAQ that operates as unsupervised data logger.

Easy Data Logger visualizes more analog input signals in the same floating chart. In particular, by selecting the Floating Chart feature of an analog input object, all the resources related to the selected object are shown in the floating chart.

The Chart object is multi trace, so more analog input signals can be shown in a unique chart object.
More objects can be used to display the same resource in Easy Data Logger
In Easy Data Logger, the same resources can be visualized using different objects simultaneously. For example, the same analog input resource can be visualized using a Text object, together with a Slide object.
Images can be customized with Auto-Zoom
For images acquired and visualized with Easy Data Logger, autozoom or image size can be set. When autozoom is enabled, image is fit to the picture default size.
New option to set visualization frequency
This new option has been inserted in General Settings and it allows user to set different visualization rate: from 1 Hz to 10 Hz. This value affects all the input objects (analog input and digital input) in the main panel of Easy Data Logger. Default value is 10 Hz.

Smart text arrangement
This new option arranges object name on two rows if necessary
Fill base line option for Chart object
Option Fill Base Line has been added to the Chart Object. If enabled, it fills the base line with the color of the line. This feature cannot be used with multi trace charts.
User can draw an arrow for each object in the panel. This can be useful for building synoptic panels. It indicates the sensor position clearly.
New virtual channel: Power
A new type of Virtual channel is supported by EDL: Power. This virtual channel allows to calculate active, reactive, and apparent power

Storage of digital signals
A new option to enable storage of digital signals has been added. If enabled, digital signals are saved in the same file where analog data are written.
